Sandbox, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, is an Ethereum-based NFT game metaverse that allows non-tech aware users to build, trade, utilize and monetize virtual reality NFTs. All of the in-game economy is supported by SAND, the crypto metaverse's native token.
NFTsare reshaping the way we acquire art, form communities, earn money, and have fun. Many NFT-based initiatives are morphing into full-blown metaverses, with The Sandbox at the helm. Founded by Pixowl co-founders Arthur Madrid and Sebastien Borget, The Sandbox is unlike previous crypto metaverse projects in that its user-generated content ecosystem makes contributing to the metaverse an easy and natural activity for participants without technical abilities.
Welcome to The Sandbox!
User-generated content (UGC) is supported by the Sandbox ecosystem, which includes three products and services:
NFT game elements can be created with VoxEdit.
A marketplace where those assets can be sold and purchased.
Game Maker is a tool that allows non-programmers to create their own game experiences.
The sandbox VoxEdit for cryptography
The voxel-based 3D pixels that make up The Sandbox game aren't unique to the project; rather, they're a phrase used in virtual reality development. The free Sandbox VoxEdit tool allows participants in The Sandbox to build their own game worlds out of these lego-like parts. Like the popular Magica Voxel, it works in a similar manner.
The Sandbox Marketplace
Sandbox metaverse players and asset creators are distinct groups. Only those developers of assets who have been approved by the Creator Fund are permitted to post their ASSETS to the Marketplace of the project.
The Sandbox Marketplace allows participants to sell their digital assets to other Sandbox players in order to make money.
An interplanetary File System (IPFS) upload is required before an ASSET may be made available on the Marketplace.
From the Marketplace, players can purchase assets from verified creators.
Creator of video games
Sandbox isn't simply a one-off game, but a collection of different games and experiences that may be played on their own.
It's up to creators and gamers to fill in the blanks and make the metaverse their own.
In the metaverse, you can utilize the Game Maker to build 3D games. Inexperienced game designers can start making games right away because they don't need any prior coding knowledge.
The Game Maker has three main components that you'll utilize to create experiences:
Blocks:
Use BLOCKS to build your experience's actual landscape. The Sandbox metaverse uses voxel cubes of 32x32x32 to measure distances.
A variety of options are available for the blocks, including transparency, solidity, and more. It is possible to generate different surfaces, such as a body of water, by combining variable types.
Assets:
Creators use VoxEdit to design own ASSETs like trees, automobiles, and buildings, and then post them to the Marketplace. A player can then drag and drop the required asset into the world they're creating in Game Maker once it's added to their library.
Logic:
Plug-and-play LOGIC bundles allow you to assign behavior to ASSETS. You can, for example, make an object a collectible treasure by customizing it.
The Sandbox Crypto Token SAND
Native to the Sandbox metaverse, the SAND coin (ERC-20) serves as a utility token.
You'll need SAND in your wallet, for example, if you want to purchase LANDs from in-game public sales. Purchasing game assets, gems, and catalysts in the Marketplace requires the SAND token. SAND can be used to post assets to the Marketplace.
As a form of governance token, SAND is sometimes referred to as governance token. It is expected that SAND holders would be able to engage in governance choices, such as deciding which features are prioritized. SAND owners have the option of voting themselves or delegating their voting rights to other SAND members..
Market capitalization of SAND is greater than $4.55B at the time of this writing. The total number of SAND tokens in circulation will be 3,000,000,000,000. On third-party cryptocurrency exchanges like Gemini, Crypto.com, and Kraken, as well as on the Uniswap DEX, SAND can be bought and sold.
There will be contests and events where users can win SAND tokens by playing games in the metaverse hosted by the Sandbox team from time to time. Airdrops of SAND have also been used in the past. When SAND is staked on Lands, Landowners will receive GEMs that they can subsequently trade for assets.
The Sandbox's Crypto World: What's in store for the future?
Brands like The Walking Dead, Smurfs and Atari have worked with The Sandbox. These collaborations include virtual concerts by Deadmau5 and Snoop Dogg, as well as a Walking Dead game. The project has also raised $93 million to date, and the team is committed to expanding their product line and metaverse.
