Axie Infinity is a digital pet universe where players battle, raise, and trade fantasy creatures called Axies.

This guide will help you learn the basics surrounding gameplay and earning in Axie Infinity.

What are Axies?

Axies are fantasy creatures that players can battle, collect, and raise.

Each Axie has different traits which determine their role in battle.

Stats

Each Axie has 4 stats, Health, Morale, Skill, and Speed.

Here’s what they do:

HP- The amount of damage your Axie can take before being knocked out.

Morale- Morale increases critical strike chances. It also makes entering last stand more likely and adds more last stand “ticks”.

Skill- Skill adds damage when an Axie plays multiple cards at once (combo). The extra damage is calculated like this: (card attack * skill )/ 500

Speed- Speed determines turn order. Faster Axies attack first. If two Axies have the same speed, this is how attack order is determined: High speed > Low HP > High Skill > High Morale > Low Fighter ID

An Axie’s stats are dependent on two variables: its class and its body parts.

Body Parts

Each Axie has 6 body parts: eyes, ears, horn, mouth, back, and tail.

Horns, Mouths, Backs, and Tails determine which cards an Axie can use in battle.

Each body part adds stats depending on the class of the part:

Classes

Each Axie has a class which is similar to the “types” from Pokemon. Each class is weak and strong against other classes. When calculating damage, the card class of the attacking move is compared to the Axie class of the defender. This means that a Bird card used to attack a Beast Axie will deal 15% additional damage. A Beast card used to attack an Aquatic Axie will deal 15% less damage.

In addition, when an Axie of a certain class uses a card from its class it gets a 10% attack/shield bonus. For example, a Plant Axie playing a plant card will receive 10% extra attack/shield.

Important to note is that these bonuses stack. A Beast Axie using a Beast card against a Plant target will do 25% (10% + 15%) more damage.

How to start playing with Axies?

In order to play the game, you’ll need at least 3 Axies. You can select good-looking Axies based on the above characters or your budget on the official Axie Infinity marketplace.

1. Form an Axie team

Open your installed Axie Infinity on your desktop. Login your account and you need to sync your axies here.

Find the "AXIES" on the left bottom.

Select your axies and sync them.

Three axies can be formed as a team. If you have more axies, you can make a free combination for your axies teams. Also can be found on the left bottom "TEAMS" and make up your team.

Select the axies for the team. You can judge the position of Axies and customize the team name.

Up to this step, you already have your own team. Now, you can start to battle!

2. Start to battle

Turn to the main screen, you can check the lightning icon ⚡️ on the top left corner. It represents the energy you can use for battling. 1 Energy for 1 battle, Arena or Aventure. The maximum will be varied based on the amount of your axies.

There are two ways to battle, Adventure and Arena. You can see them on the entrance screen.

Adventure

For adventure, you need to successfully pass the level one by one. You will be rewarded in account of Smooth Love Potioin (SLP) if you win. The reward will be increased with level difficulty.

In the adventure, you will battle with the enemy. Your only goal is to defeat them.

For the battle, you can also make a card combo for your axies.

If you win the battle, you will get the reward also the celebration.

Arena

Similar to Adventure, your enemy will be axies team from other players. If your enemy keeps higher level anxies or skillful anxies, you may lose the game. Your axies need more experience to get to a higher level, which means you need to win as many battles as possible.

How to earn with Axie Infinity?

If you win the battle, you will get the reward of Smooth Love Potion(SLP). You can check it in your "Inventory".

Then, you can check the price of Smooth Love Potion in cryptocurrency market.

Based on the current price, you can convert your Smooth Love Potion earned to USD and check how much you have earned through playing the game.
